    Death came to Clarence Durham Sunday night after a long illness with lung trouble. He passed away at 10:40 o'clock at his home on Maple street, amidst his family, a few close friends and his pastor. The end was not unexpected.
    The body was taken to the Young funeral home. The body will remain at the funeral home until Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock, when services will be held at the Wesleyan Methodist church with the pastor in charge. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
    Mr. Durham was the son of Madison and Martha (Taygartt) Durham and he was born near Hackleman, March 16, 1896. When only four years old, his mother died and he went to live with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Davis of near Windfall and he lived there until he entered the army in 1918. He was in field artillery at Camp Taylor, Louisville, Kentucky.
    Following his service in the army, he returned home and engaged in farm work. He worked on farms in the Windfall, Hobbs, Tipton and Atlanta communities. December 20, 1924, he was united in marriage with Vernice Tomlinson, who survives with three sons, Robert, 14; Donald, 12, and Billy, 10.
    Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Cora Kelley of Kokomo; two half-sisters, Mrs. Irene Porter of Tipton and Mrs. Nellie Gilliam of Kokomo; a half-brother, Paul Durham of Kokomo, and a step-sister, Mrs. Nora Heater of Gary.
    For the past nine years, the deceased had been a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church of this city.
