    TOWNSEND, KATHERINE "Kitty" 93 - of Atlantic City, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord.
    She was born in Philadelphia and attended the local public school system.
    She was a foster grandparent throughout the Atlantic City Public School System for 40 years. Her love for life and children cannot be put in words. She will be deeply missed.
    Preceding Katherine in the afterlife in addition to her parents are: her husband, Milton Russell Townsend, Sr.; and her only child, Russell Townsend. She leaves to mourn their loss: her guardian/caregiver for the past three years, her great niece, Lauren Gallagher of Atlantic City; a very special great-great niece, Ayana Gallagher of Atlantic City; a special niece she thought as of as the daughter she never had, Anna Gallagher of Pleasantville; two nephews, Walter Saunders, Jr. of Philadelphia and William Howell; a sister in-law, Jessie Saunders of Philadelphia; 20 great nieces and nephews; 45 great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
    Graveside Services will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 12th, in the Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
