William Avery Dies Wednesday; Funeral Saturday
William Avery, 1213 South G street, died at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening at Mercy hospital. He had been ill
the past several years.
Born in Eaton, Ohio, Sept. 1, 1886 he was the son of Daniel and Susie Avery. He was married Dec. 24, 1913
to Miss Myrtle Moore. He was the father of eight children, four of whom are living. He was an employee of the City
of Elwood for several years retiring in 1954.
Survivors include the widow, two daughters, Betty of Elwood, Mrs. Ruth Brotherton of Martinsville, Ill.,
two sons, William Jr. of Elwood and Roy of Frankton, a brother, Harvey of Dayton, Ohio, a sister, Mrs. Laura Waddell,
Hamilton, Ohio, three grand children and two great grandchildren.
The body is at the Robert L. Jackley funeral home where friends may call.
Funeral rites will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Jackleys with the Rev. William Meier,
pastor of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be made in Elwood City cemetery.
