Clarence "Joe" Durham, age 80, of Hatfield, Ark., passed away Oct. 11, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1928 in Greenwich, N.J. He was the son of the late Marvel Durham and the late Rhoda Seeney Durham. He was united in 30 years of marriage to Darlene Krouse on Aug. 18, 1978, in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Swedesboro, N.J.
He lived in Mena, Ark., since 2003, moving from Portland and was a member of the Mena Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was an auto salesman and mechanic, and he loved Murray Lawn Mowers and built and repaired them. He received the World's Greatest Buffer award from Highland Hospital Housekeeping Department in Portland, and he loved playing the harmonica.
He is survived by wife, Darlene Durham of Hatfield, Ark.; son, Jody Durham of Charleston, W.Va.; stepchildren, J. Arthur Garrison of Tyner, Ky., Sally Abrams of Marcellus, Mich., and Victor Garrison of LaPorte, Ind.; brother, Edward Durham of Puyallup, Wash.; sister, Rhoda Durham of Dover, Del.; and granddaughter, Jodi Renee Durham of Charleston, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by son, David; five brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Oct. 17 at 2 p.m., in the Mena Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Rodil Capobres, Pastor Blount and Arthur Garrison officiating. Interment will be in the Six Mile Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service in Mena. Pallbearers will be Mike Easton, Lou Simsek, Tony Murrell, Richie Owens, Durick Bush and Larry Weatherby. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Garrison, Victor Garrison, Virgil Morrow and Frank Andrews.

Clarence "Joe" Durham
Clarence "Joe" Durham, of Hatfield, Ark., passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1928, in Greenwich, New Jersey, his age being 80 years, 4 months and 10 days.
Mr. Durham was the son of the late Marvel Durham and the late Rhoda Seeney Durham.
He was united in 30 years of marriage to Darlene Krouse, on Aug. 18, 1978. He lived in Mena since 2003, moving from Portland, Tenn., as an auto salesman and mechanic.
Survivors are: Wife Darlene Durham, of Hatfield, Ark.; one son, Jody Durham, of Charleston, W.V.; one brother, Edward Durham, of Puyallup, Wash.; one sister, Rhoda Durham, of Dover, Del.; one granddaughter, Jodi Renee Durham, of Charleston, W.V.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, at the Mena Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Rodil Capobres, Pastor Blount, and Arthur Garrison officiating. Interment will be at the Six Mile Cemetery, under the direction of Hall Funeral Service.
