Died At Age Of Eighty-Three / Services for Mrs. Mary E. Collier Will Be Held, Saturday
Mrs. Mary E. Collier, aged 83, widow of Abraham Collier, one of the pioneer mothers of the northwestern part
of the county, died Thursday, at the home of her daughter Mrs. E. E. McMurtry in Boxleytown, following an illness of
many months. Services in charge of Rev. Huffman, will be held at the Methodist church in Sheridan at 2 p.m., Saturday
and burial will take place in Crown View cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home of Pettijohn and Shanklin
at any time until the hour for the services.
Mrs. Collier was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Durham, early settlers of the Boxleytown community
and spent most of her life there.
Three sons and two daughters survive. They are George Collier, Sheridan; Anderson Collier, Kempton;
Isaac Collier, Missouri; Mrs. Pearl McMurtry, Boxleytown, and Mrs. Agnes George, Noblesville.

Walter Edwards Makes Some Tax Reports
Walter Edwards has made his report as to inheritance tax due Uncle Sam in the estate of Mary E. Collier.
He found no tax due but Mrs. Collier left a fine estate--three sons, two daughters, four granddaughters and two grand
sons. The estate included some land in Adams township. The three sons are: Anderson, George D. and Isaac R. Collier;
the daughters: Pearl McMurtry and Agnes George; the granddaughters: Lena E. D. Collier, Elizabeth Galloway, Agnes O.
Conner and Eileen Collier; grandsons: Kenneth and Doyle Collier.
