  Robert Durham
    Robert A. Durham, 58, Tipton, died Wednesday morning, April 18, 1984 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Kokomo Feb. 7, 1926 to Clarence A. "Happy" and Vernece Tomlinson Durham.
    He was married in 1945 to Jane Helgerson, who survives, along with four children, Jewel Durham, Muncie, Janet Johnson, Kempton, Jay Durham, Lexington, Ind., and Joyce Durham, San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Donald and William Durham, both of Elwood; his mother, Vernece Carr, Elwood; and three grandsons.
    He was retired from the Tipton Fire Department in 1968. He attended the Fairfield Christian Church at Oakford and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and Tipton Social CB Club. He was a veteran of service with the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
    Masonic memorial rites will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. The Rev. William Booth will be in charge of final rites Saturday at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tipton Fairview Cemetery.
