Rhoda Maude Durham
Rhoda Maude Durham, of Dover, Del., passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Bridgeton, N.J., daughter of the late Marvel Durham and Rhoda Seeney Durham.
Ms. Durham was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, as well as watching and taking care of the rest of the family's children.
She was a member of the Forrest Grove Seventh Day Adventist church. Ms. Durham loved spending time at Spence's Bazaar setting up her table, talking with everybody that came by. She loved country music, especially George Jones, and just loved Elvis. Ms. Durham was known for collecting bears and bells. She loved to shop with her niece and her favorite recipe was take-out, or dine out.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving companion, Wilbur Durham Jr.; two baby boys; four sisters, Francis L. Morgan-Wilson, Lydia Morris, Sally Miller, and Helen Loatman; 6 brothers, Allen, Raymond, Marvel, Jerry, Ralph and Clarence "Joe" Durham. Also preceding her in death are a loving granddaughter, Christy Lynn Durham; grandson, baby boy, Christopher Durham; and a great-grandson, James Hendrix Durham.
Ms. Durham is survived by her children, William K. Durham and his wife, Roberta, of Marydel, Walter Allen Durham, of Camden, Robert (aka Jerry) Durham and his wife, Tracy, of Dover, Del., Arnold Wilbur and his wife, Shuana, of Dover, Del.; her brother, Edward Durham and his wife, Darlene, of Washington; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; two special friends, Josephine Corona, of New Castle, Del., and Annette Schandling, of Camden, N.J.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at the Forrest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4950 Pearson's Corner Road, Dover, Del. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday evening at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover, Del. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Bayada Nurses, 1400 Peoples Plaza, Suite 111, Newark, DE 19702.
