Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix for Eda K.
Driggett, 83, who died January 29 in Santa Monica, California.
The former Eda K. Krempel was born February 19, 1901 in Manistee. She attended Ferris Institute and graduated
from Ypsilanti State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University). After marrying George E. Driggett of Charlevoix,
the couple both taught school in Southern Michigan from 1922 to 1927 when they moved to Shorewood, Wis. They spent summers
in Charlevoix from 1958 until Mr. Driggett's death in 1968.
Mrs. Driggett moved to Santa Monica in 1969 and was an officer in the Santa Monica Bay Womens Club from 1969
to 1984. She was also active in the Santa Monica Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of
Santa Monica. On February 14, the Santa Monica City Council adjourned in the memory of Mrs. Driggett. Memorial services
were held in both Santa Monica and Shorewood.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Gillette of Santa Monica; two sons, George, of Shorewood, Wis. and
Thomas of Hubertus, Wis.; two sisters, Welma Methfessel of Waverly, Iowa and Mildred VanWinkle of Jackson, Michigan; two
brothers-in-law, James Driggett of Harbor Springs and Victor Breece of Charlevoix and Winter Haven, Fla.; a sister-in-law,
Katherine Driggett of Alden; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
