Thomas N. Metzler Sr.
HAMILTON – Thomas N. Metzler Sr., age 75, of Hamilton Township, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 15,
2009.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Thomas was retired from his job as a foreman after more
than 38 years with the Union Camp Co.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a life
member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 313, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He
was a member of the Crosspile Hunting Club.
Son of the late Thomas J. and Myrtle Parsons Metzler, brother of the late Earl Metzler, and husband of the
late Mina H. Metzler, Thomas is survived by his children, Kathy and husband Ron Sanna, Thomas N. Metzler Jr. and
Nancy Wilmarth, Helen Cloward and Geno Gogan, Susan and husband James Chell, Bernice and husband Jim Bigley,
Mina and husband Lance Erbe, and Michael and wife Peggy Metzler; 20 grandchildren, Ron and Lori, Kimberly, Tommy, Scott,
Maria, Emily, Jeremy, Jim, Brian, Michael, Justin, Brittany, Alexa, Daniel, Ryan, Kelly, Shelby, Michael, Michele, Chelse;
and his great-grandchildren, Ronald and Benjamin. Also surviving are several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 20) from the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home,
260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton. Burial will follow in Colonial Memorial Park in Hamilton. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday (Aug. 19) at the funeral home. American Legion services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
