Dorothy L. Shaw
Dorothy L. Shaw, 79, 114 E. Main St., Markleville, died Wednesday at Community Hospital following one year
of failing health.
She was born March 6, 1911, in Elwood and had lived in Madison before moving to Markleville in 1936. She
retired in 1976 from St. John's Medical Center as a nurse's aide and was a member of Markleville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, George Shaw of Lapel; two daughters, Betty Shaw of Markleville and Bonnie Cowan of
Cullman, Ala.; a brother, Chester Perkins of Elwood; a sister, Eugenolia Mitchell of Madison; six grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Leonard Shaw, died in 1944 in World War II.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Terrell officiating.
Burial will be at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
