Elwood Native Wayne Moore Passes Away
Wayne Moore, 60, of route 1 Markleville died Wednesday at St. John's hospital, Anderson. Death was due
to a heart attack.
He was born in Elwood, Dec. 29, 1907, the son of Joseph and Alice Durham Moore. He had lived in Markleville
for the past 28 years, moving there from Ovia.
He was a supervisor at Delco-Remy in Anderson, was treasurer and past master of the Masonic lodge, past
patron of the Order of Eastern Star, past guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel 116, a member of the Madison County
Scottish Rite and the Markleville Brotherhood and Sisterhood.
Survivors include the widow, Florence; two sons, Harold W. of Markleville and Ronnie of New Castle; four
sisters, Mrs. John Everling and Myrtle Avery of Elwood, Mrs. Dorothy Shaw of Markleville and Mrs. Ivan Penzes of Los
Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Chester Perkins of Elwood; and five grandchildren.
The body is at the Cornell Bright funeral home in Pendleton where friends may call. Memorial services
will be held tonight by the Markleville Masonic lodge and the Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Cornell Bright home. Burial will be
made in the cemetery at Mechanisburg.
