Theberge in Italy
Harvey L. Theberge, husband of Mrs. Jule Theberge, of 868 Brunswick Avenue, is somewhere in Italy serving
with the medical corps. He entered the service in May, 1943, and trained at Camp Grant, Ill. After this he took a
three-months' course at the Walter Reed Hospital in dentistry. Before going overseas he spent a furlough with his wife
and year-old son. As a civilian he worked for the Crescent Insulated Wire and Cable Company as an assistant foreman. He
is the son of Mrs. Anna Theberge, of the above address.

Tribute to Heroes
Pfc. Harvey L. Theberge, husband of Mrs. Jule Theberge of 413 South Logan Avenue, recently took part in
exercises paying tribute to Americans who lost their lives in the Italian campaign. The service was held at Gorizia,
Italy. Theberge sang "Tenting Tonight on the Old Camp Ground" and "Abide With Me."

Theberge Discharged
Pfc. Harvey L. Theberge, husband of Mrs. Jule Theberge of 116 Moffatt Avenue, was honorably discharged at
Fort Dix on October 25 after two and a half years in the army. He served in Italy for 18 months as a member of the
91st (Powder River) Division and was wounded while in action as a medical aid man at the front lines. He was awarded
the Purple Heart and a unit citation.
Theberge, who is the son of Mrs. Anna M. Theberge of the Moffatt Avenue address, has returned to his former
position at the Crescent Wire Company.

Harvey L. Theberge
MANCHESTER – Harvey L. Theberge, 72, of Crestwood Village in Whiting, died Friday at home.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Theberge lived in Hamilton until he moved to Whiting in 1979. Before retirement in 1978,
he was a tax assessor for the State Division of Taxation for 20 years.
A veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart, he served as a medic during the Italian
campaign.
He was a member of the first graduating class of Hamilton High School West and was past president of its
Parent Teachers Association.
Active in Pilgrim Presbyterian Church of Hamilton, he was Sunday school teacher, deacon, treasurer, and
choir member.
He was also a dedicated barbershop quartet singer with the Princeton and Toms River chapters of the Society
for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. He was a member of the Community
Reformed Church in Whiting.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Lipchak Theberge; three sons, Barton A. Theberge of Mercerville, Harvey A.
Theberge of Middletown, Md., and Dennis C. Theberge of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road,
Whiting section of Manchester Township. Burial will be in Colonial Memorial Park, Trenton.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church of Hamilton or to the Community Reformed
Church of Whiting.
