Maxine C. Moore, aged 52, died on Monday, October 17, 1994 at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Drexel Hill
after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 5, 1941 in Darby, PA, the daughter of Florine (nee Saunders) and the late Raymond
Thompson. Maxine grew up in Yeadon and graduated from Yeadon High School in 1959.
Immediately following graduation she went to work for the Bell Telephone Company as a clerk in the Engineering
Department and advanced to Supervisor of that department. She also worked as an assignment foreman and finally as a
training instructor in both Phila. and Valley Forge before her retirement on December 15, 1991. Maxine was employed by
Bell Telephone for 31 years.
She was a woman who was devoted to her family, friends and her job.
In 1979 she married James Archie Moore, who died on December 27, 1987 after eight years of marriage.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her brother, Raymond Charles Thompson of Philadelphia, Jim's
father, Earle Madison Moore, Sr and his wife, of Philadelphia, and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly
miss her.
