    RUSSELL A. TOWNSEND, 44, of Atlantic City, died Thursday at the King David Care Center.
    Mr. Townsend worked as a job counselor for the New Jersey State Employment Office. He also had worked as a bellman, car jockey, and kitchen worker at various local hotels.
    He was a former member of the Community Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran.
    Born in Atlantic City, he attended Atlantic City public schools.
    He is survived by his mother, Catherine Townsend of Atlantic City; one son, Richard of Harrisburg, Pa.; and one daughter; Monique of Connecticut.
    Services and burial were private.
