    Tipton, Ind.–Vernice Carr, 87, died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday at Parkview Nursing Home in Elwood.
    Born Oct. 23, 1904, in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of Hamilton Elsworth and Bertha Thomas Tomlinson. She was married in 1925 to Clarence Durham. He preceded her in death in 1940. She then married Glenn Carr in 1970. He preceded her in death in 1982.
    A homemaker, She was a member of the Central Wesleyan Church and the missionary society of the church.
    Surviving are two sons, Don Durham of Greyling, Mich., and Bill Durham of Elwood; two sisters, Fern Shook of Florida and Doris Smith of Windfall; one brother, Guy Tomlinson of Middletown; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton Fairview Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
